5th Annual Miracles in Motion 5k
The Moody Miracle League 5th Annual Miracles in Motion event is set for Saturday, March 9, 2019 to help continue raising money for our baseball field replacement. So far, we have raised over $70,000 toward our goal of $150,000 from sponsors like you that want to give a chance for all individuals with special needs to play baseball. Our current field is over 16 years old and we plan to replace the field once we reach that goal.
We are excited this year, as our race course has now been certified with USA Track & Field (Certification #AL18055JE). This should help us increase the number of individuals that participate in the race.
The race will be held at the Miracle League Field in Moody, AL again this year. We had over 206 registered participants and estimated at over 300 individuals for 2018 event. Let’s make 2019 bigger and better! We are planning for 400+ participants in this family-friendly environment. This race is becoming popular for all types of athletes as it gives them a chance to spend time with our special needs players. An exhibition baseball game will be played by our players after the 5k run. This will allow all participants in the 5k & Fun Run to watch a game on our field.
We hope you will consider joining us as we encourage community involvement, wellness and fun while raising funds to help us replace our aging field. This allows special needs layers of all ages from St. Clair, Etowah, Jefferson, Shelby, Talladega, Blount and Calhoun counties to continue playing the game of baseball.
